| Q & A
What are the dates of project?
You will leave on July 3 and return on July 31.
May I leave project early?
We are willing to discuss your special circumstances and decisions will be made on an individual bases.
How do I raise support? What if I don’t get it raised? Will I have help?
Raising your own support is a great way to increase your faith and give people an opportunity to be part of the mission. Rarely do we run into cases where students don’t get all their money. It truly is amazing to see God provide so abundantly. If for some reason you are unable to raise all your support, we will discuss the options at that time. Our encouragement, “Pray as if it depends on God and work at it like it depends on you.”
Will you have help? Yes. We will provide you with sample letters, conversations, and ways to ask. You will also be assigned a support coach who will track with you and encourage you in the process.
Where will I be living?
We will make arrangements for your housing. At this time we are still in negotiations. As soon as a decision is made, we will indicate the name and address of the location here.
What will my schedule look like?
We will post the tentative schedule sometime next spring. For now here are a few details:
- Weekly you will experience humanitarian service, community outreach, small group accountability, project events, training, and campus times.
- Your schedule will be full and busy.
- There will be time for personal and corporate times to
connect with Jesus.
- Etc, etc, etc.
Can I get a job?
There is not time to pursue a job. If this is a concern, another summer project may suit your needs better.
Can I count my summer experience as an internship?
Maybe. You need to work out the details with your professors and/or academic counselor. There are students who have worked this out in the past. Typically your professor or counselor will give you a list of requirements that we need to have. We will make sure the criteria fits into the overall schedule and will let you know if it is possible. We are confident this is clear as mud, so feel free to just to call or email us.
Can I still take summer classes?
If you need to take classes, it would need to be prior to July 3 or after you return on July 31.
Will I receive training to reach people who don’t know Christ?
Most definitely! We will look at a variety of evangelism styles. There is no right or wrong way, although some ways are more effective.
What if my parents have concerns or questions?
In all probability they will. Feel free to contact us for specific questions or you may check out this site http://gosummerproject.com/parents.html

What is the history of CCC's summer mission projects?
Campus Crusade is an interdenominational Christian organization founded in 1951 with the purpose of helping to fulfill the Great Commission of Jesus Christ as recorded in Matthew 28:18-20. When Bill and Vonette Bright first launched Campus Crusade for Christ, the underlying concept was to "win the campus today and change the world tomorrow." More than 50 years later, the mission remains the same.
Today more than 26,000 staff members and 225,000 volunteers work in more than 191 countries worldwide. We see ourselves as an extension of the local church with expertise in particular areas, working closely with pastors and churches throughout the United States and the world.
In 1965 we started our very first summer project to help a church in Ocean City, NJ reach the young people who flocked to the beach there each summer. This summer we will be sending approximately 3,500 students and staff members to 150 summer projects around the world! Every year our summer projects involve American students, recent graduates, lay people, and full-time Campus Crusade staff members.
