International Summer Project 2008

Overview

The Destino Summer Project 2008 is our international project designed to unite U.S. Latinos to outreach in El Salvador through humanitarian work and campus ministry

“Good news and Good deeds.”

The capital city and home to nearly 2.2 million people, San Salvador is the second largest city in Central America and extremely influential. One-third of El Salvador’s population and one-half of the country’s wealth reside in San Salvador!
We will come alongside hospitable Salvadorian staff and students and offer tangible help to the needy of this poverty-stricken country. Building relationships with one another as U.S. Latinos and with the Salvadorian students, we will learn from and teach one another.
Our culture(s) will meet theirs; their story will meld into ours; and, in the mysterious way of transformational community, we will come away changed, with eyes wide open to a new reality of the greater Kingdom of God.
You will be trained in how to share your faith in Jesus and how to follow-up new believers. Through creative outreaches, we’ll share Jesus with students at the influential private universities as well as at the national university.
Through intentional mentoring, small group communities, faith-sharing opportunities, and active service to the needy, you will return to the States with skills, training, and experiences to help enrich your family; your church; your community; and your campus… (not to mention, Salvadorian food is inexpensive and delicious!)
Come join us to help reach this city that is key to reaching Central America for Jesus Christ!
