PARA COMER ~ FOOD FOR THE SOUL
Perhaps the most read book of the bible is the Gospel of John; when someone is searching for God or comes to Christ what is the first book we recommend they read? The Gospel of John. Why? To create belief in the reader. For those who don't know Christ, our hope is in reading this Gospel they might come to believe, and to those who just came to know Christ, that they will be strengthened in their faith as they learn of the God-man Jesus Christ.

The message is "believe" that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God.
"But these are written that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that by believing you may have life in his name." John 20:31 (NIV)

Jesus is God in the flesh no mere man can say these words and do these things. Jesus is the Son of God which is a strong and clear claim to full deity, being identified as God. That's the message, the signs he presented were to convince you to believe and rely upon Jesus as the Son of God, the provider of eternal life.

What does it mean to believe? Is it intellectual assent, I believe this historical Jesus existed, I believe the facts, even the doctrines taught in the bible…yes, but it's more than that--isn't believing getting warm feelings, positive emotions about Jesus and learning about his teachings, it can be, but it's more than that--Isn't believing coming to a point in my life that I make a decision to accept Jesus into my heart, yes, but it is more than that.

What does it mean to believe? To believe, to trust in Jesus as my Lord and my God is to be committed to Him-I follow him and I obey him. We believe-entrust our entire life to him, abandon our will, and follow his will, giving ourselves to God. John 10:27, "My sheep listen to my voice; I know them, and they follow me." (NIV) John 14:15, "If you love me, you will obey what I command." (NIV)

John wrote his gospel so that people might believe, to create belief in the reader; the book has a clear evangelistic purpose. John simply wanted to fulfill his mission in life as given by his Lord and his God Jesus Christ, John 17:18, "As you sent me into the world, I have sent them into the world." (NIV)

Jesus was sent . . . into the world on a mission by His Father. So believers are sent . . . into the world on a mission by the Son, to make the Father known. John 3:17, "For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but to save the world through him." (NIV)

How are you getting the message out?

Here are 3 great ways to get the message out:

1. Get the message out broadly: Check out www.Destinomovement.com print out some MyDestino.com fliers for an evangelistic website www.Mydestino.com and put them up all over your campus...People will read the message! (Poster is attached here if you can't get it from the site.)

<<MyDestino poster.pdf>>

2. Get the message out personally: Prayer, Care & Share...here's a great way to build relationships and share about Christ, through praying for a friend, caring about them and sharing about Jesus.  http://www.godsquad.com/squadroom/evangelism/pray.htm

3. Get the message out having a great time: Invite your friends who don't know Christ to come to a Fall conference with you - they will hear about Jesus and you will have a great time!

*** Many campuses put on great Fall conferences....if you dont know of one, let us know and we will hook you up to the closest one to your campus.

These are just 3 ways to get the message out....How are you getting the message out?
