Toma un minuto para alimentar tu alma e impactar tu mundo! __________________________________________ PARA COMER ~ FOOD FOR THE SOUL Helping those hit by Hurricane Katrina What an opportunity for us to be a witness to our communities by making sacrifices to meet the needs of those who survived hurricane Katrina. Jesus said in Matthew 25:35, "For I was hungry and you gave me something to eat, I was thirsty and you gave me something to drink, I was a stranger and you invited me in, I needed clothes and you clothed me, I was sick and you looked after me, I was in prison and you came to visit me.' "Then the righteous will answer him, 'Lord, when did we see you hungry and feed you, or thirsty and give you something to drink? When did we see you a stranger and invite you in, or needing clothes and clothe you? When did we see you sick or in prison and go to visit you?' 'I tell you the truth, whatever you did for one of the least of these brothers of mine, you did for me." Have you heard God's call to help? What can we do? "Nobody can do everything, but everybody can do something, and together we can change the world." Join with your or a local church or student organization and adopt a family for 90 days to help them get back on their feet. Here at our local church Mt. Franklin we are providing housing, food, clothes, transportation and work opportunities for families hit by H.K. Perhaps your local Destino Movement can coordinate such an effort. 2. Give financially to an organization that is not only going to help provide for physical needs but also minister to the family's spiritual needs. 3. Organize a Prayer Night at your church or campus, pray for the needs of H.K. evacuees. Pray for both the victims who need help and for the students you will meet through your involvement in this effort. Take this opportunity to “live the gospel” as well as “give the gospel”.
