Lets
look at the The Church
Passage:
Hebrews
10:24-25,
"And let us consider how we may spur one another on
toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting
together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us
encourage one another-and all the more as you see the Day
approaching." (NIV)
Why are we commanded to meet? Why go to church? The writer of
Hebrews says it is a safeguard
against drifting. The context of
the entire book communicates the need for one another--so we
won't drift away from the faith. Individual commitment to
Christ alone is not enough to keep us in line, we need each
other. Church attendance and involvement is significant: When
you drift away from the family of God-the church, it is only a
matter of time until you drift away from God.
Nothing on earth is more valuable to God than his church. The
church is so precious to our Savior that he died for it--the
church is "the body of Christ," people. When you
become a Christian you commit yourself to Christ. When you
become a member of a local church you commit yourself to a
specific group of believers! Church is more than just showing
up to a place for services; it's a commitment to a group of
believers. Jesus' idea of church is not just showing up and
warming a seat on Sunday morning in a facility and isolating
ourselves from others and not cultivating relationships. So
often we think we've done our job if we've gone to church, the
place/a building. We walk into the building, sit down, listen,
and get back in the car to go about our business. God help us
if that's our perspective of what a church should be. Jesus
wants us to find and cultivate intimacy in the church, with
our spiritual family. He desired for this family to have the
strongest union, a permanent bond that will be for all
eternity.

LLEVAR - IMPACT YOUR WORLD
Start
off the semester connecting to the Lord with others and your
community:
*
With the Lord -
What we do every day makes the difference in a life that makes
a difference. Make it a priority to put the Lord first in your
personal life - when we neglect meeting with the Lord, we lose
sight of why we are here, and why we are involved in Destino.
Check out this resources to help you start meeting with God on

daily basis. ATTACHED: HOW TO HAVE A QUIET TIME
*
With others
- Together the people in your Destino movement need to
remember to go back to the basics of planning when you start
each semester. Take a bigger look at the main elements of a
Destino movement. Be creative as the Lord leads you to be in
living those elements out on your campus and in your
community. ATTACHED: HOW TO BUILD A DESTINO MOVEMENT
