PARA COMER ~ FOOD FOR THE SOUL

 John 1:14, "The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the One and Only, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth.

The Savior was full of grace and truth. On the one hand, full of undeserved kindness and favor for others (grace), He was also completely honest and upright (truth), and He never excused sin or approved evil. Jesus is completely gracious and at the same time completely righteous.

Grace and truth applied to one's life: Grace let's you know you're loved period. Truth guides you on what to do and become.

All of us at some time have experienced these two qualities in our lives, grace and truth. Things can go terribly wrong if we develop a pattern of only applying one, each is destructive when applied separately. 

Truth without Grace leads to legalism, judgment, and condemnation. And Grace without truth leads to license, it allows for anything without responsibility.

Jesus applied grace and truth and this is what brings about love, growth, obedience and healing in a person's life.

PARA LLEVAR - IMPACT YOUR WORLD   

THINK ABOUT IT... 
GRACE -  Do you need to extend grace to a person? Have you separated yourself from someone because they don't measure up to your standards? Are you holding back your love, kindness, friendship because someone hurt you? As Christians we are to continuously give grace. 

TRUTH -   Maybe you've been avoiding the truth, you know it, you hear it, but you are not responding to it. You continue to give yourself a license to sin, maybe you know a friend who is in sin and you're not confronting them in love , are you giving them or yourself a license to continue to sin? 

OUR GREAT NEED -  Get in the Word  -  When you are in the habit of being in the presence of God by spending time with him in the word and prayer you can't help but respond with grace, unconditional acceptance, and truth-you take a stand for righteousness, what's morally and biblically right.  

 This Christmas Season... Spend time in His Word and read about the One who came in truth and grace as a baby to redeem our lives... This week marks the 2nd week in Advent...use these devotionals to help guide you in keeping Jesus the center of this season and your life.
