Leading, pasturing, God’s people demands far more than competent leadership, it requires moral and spiritual example. We lead by character and competence. The single item that hurts the church or any ministry the most is a lack of godly, spiritual, moral leadership. The ministry, effectiveness, impact, character, and testimony of any campus ministry is largely a reflection of its leaders. Whoever leads in the ministry will determine what that group will become in a large measure. Leadership in the ministry is an essential element. Hosea said, “Like people, like priest.” In other words, people are like those who lead them. There is a close link between the moral character of the Crusade staff and the student leaders, to the moral character of the group. There is an inseparable connection between the quality of the leadership in the ministry and the character of that group. You become like the ones who lead you, shepherd you, and teach you. The Lord has designed and equipped certain men and women to take on the call to be leaders in your ministry. The Father has called your Crusade Staff and student leaders to be shepherds of your group. The most important attitude for the leaders in your ministry is giving not receiving. To be there for the students, our time is not our own. The duty of the leaders includes sacrifice: Availability to the group to serve, minister, help, give, fellowship, and teach, etc. Not anyone can do this job. Could any work be more high and holy? The work of pasturing, shepherding, leading the ministry, which our Lord purchased with his blood, is the highest and the greatest and the most glorious calling to which anyone can ever be called. Your leaders have been called of God to lead your ministry and your response as an individual should be respect, and the response of the leaders should be humility. How arrogant when we cross them, gossip about them, belittle their decisions, take their advice as trivial. No, we are to honor them, respect them, protect their character, think & speak the best about them, and know God works through them for our best interests. Let’s show our appreciation for these men and women leaders! Pastor Alex Garcia Destino Coaching Center See also: www.MyDestino.com |
