Take a minute to
feed your soul and impact your world!
Toma un minuto para alimentar tu alma e impactar tu mundo! Part
1: Para Comer ~ Food for the soul Consider the Source Jesus said, Luke 6:43-45, “For a good tree does not bear bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. For every tree is known by its own fruit. For men do not gather figs from thorns, nor do they gather grapes from a bramble bush. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.” (NASB) Consider the source…Whatever is in my heart will come out in my speech. Types of Heartbeats 1. Fearful words reveal an anxious heart 2. Critical words reveal a bitter heart 3. Boasting words reveal an insecure heart 4. Guilty words reveal an impure heart 5. A talkative tongue reveals an unsettled heart 6. Unkind words reveal a hard heart 7. Gentle words reveal a loving heart 8. Controlled words reveal a peaceful heart 9. Few words reveal a wise heart 10. Kind and encouraging words reveal a happy heart 11. Honest, exhorting, and correcting words reveal a caring heart 12. Gospel words reveal a compassionate heart Let’s just take one heartbeat: A compassionate heart. Paul writes about his motivation to share Christ with others. In II Corinthians 5, He speaks about how he wants to persuade men, the love of Christ compels him; and in Romans 10 he writes, “My heart’s desire and prayer is for the Israelites to be saved.” This reveals Paul’s compassionate heart. Now the extreme of someone unwilling to share the good news is Jonah, and eventually we leave that story of a man more concerned about his needs than the spiritual needs of others—revealing a calloused heart.
