Raise your Expectations

When we read the Old and New Testament we find men and women of God who doubt their ability, but they never doubt God's ability, they understand He can and does the impossible. But it is God who comes in and moves us to do what is possible. When Moses doubted God, the Lord said, "Go!" When Joshua needed a word of encouragement, God said, "With the possible…be strong and courageous." And Jesus' every last words, the Great Commission he commands the disciples to, "Go, and do the possible…make disciples." We follow a God who is in the business of doing the impossible! We must be committed to doing what is possible and trust God for the impossible.

Am I acting on what God has communicated as the possible, for example, the Great Commission, "Therefore go and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you." Am I going…sharing the gospel with my friends, my classmates…with the lost and trusting God to change their hearts? Are we taking ownership and responsibility with the possible…to simply share the love of Christ and leaving the results to God? Is it possible to walk into the Hispanic student center or MECHA and begin to connect and establish key relationships with our Latino brothers and sisters…is it possible to initiate with your classmates and your friends in the dorms how God has changed your life?

In Acts 1:8, we are called "Witnesses" Like the early church, you and I are to be witnesses of what we have seen and heard of the truth about Jesus Christ - this is achievable, this is possible.

If we desire to see God do the impossible in our lives we need to be obedient to live out what he has defined as possible. We can never abandon the possible, whether it's reaching the one or reaching the entire campus this is our stewardship…to reach each and every person around us. God says, Go accomplish the possible…but not without his presence and power.

Exodus 4:12, "Now go; I will help you speak and will teach you what to say."

Joshua 1:9, "Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be terrified; do not be discouraged, for the LORD your God will be with you wherever you go."

Zechariah 4:6, "Not by might, nor by power, but by my Spirit, says the Lord."

Acts 1:8, "But you will receive power when the Holy Spirit comes on you; and you will be my witnesses in Jerusalem, and in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth."

Let's go accomplish the Possible,

Pastor Alex Garcia
